A day at the aquarium

While we were in Oriental we took a day trip to Morehead and went to the aquarium. It was great to see this part of God's creation.

After we went to the aquarium we stopped by Atlantic beach just for a few min. just so we could walk on the sand and put our feet in the water. We can't wait to stay at the beach for the whole week.

On the way home we rode the ferry back across. We enjoyed throwing bread to the seagulls.

We have been having a great time in the states. This set of pics. is of when we were visiting with Kevin's parents in Oriental, NC. We had a great time doing lots of outdoors stuff. There was a little time for shopping but most everything we did was on the water. Being landlocked for 4 years at a time is tough on us beach/water people.

Kevin, Zach, Justin, and Granddaddy went out shooting guns.

Kevin caught lots of fish but this was a little different-a sting ray!

The boys had a great time tubing behind a boat. They are looking forward to when we go back to Oriental after being at the beach to do it some more.

Hannah enjoyed learning to fish. She even caught some small ones!

Zach has really enjoyed fishing. Every free chance he gets he is heading out to the dock with a fishing pole.

Carowinds

Doesn't this look fun!

While we were visiting my sister in Charlotte, NC we went to Carowinds for the day. This top pic. is of all of us at the beginning of our day-refreshed and ready to go. We are straddling NC and SC. Front to back is Macey, Hannah, Michaela, Gram, me, and Justin(my sister took the pic.)

This pic. of Macey and Michaela were taken about half way through the day. We had only been there about 3 hours and it began to rain. We thought it would be just a shower but after sitting in a store for about 30 min. we decided it wasn't going to stop anytime soon. So, we ran in the rain all the way back to the van (which is a funny story in itself). We then drove to a gas station and did what most people would do after being drenched in wetness-we sat in the heat of the van got a diet coke and we each had a candy bar! We then proceeded to Toys-R-Us and I (suzie) got nominated to go in with all the kids. Do you know what wet shoes sound like on a floor? It squeeks! Anyway, we walked around in there for about 30 min. and then the rain stopped. Since we had spent all that money we decided to go back to Carowinds. The rain had stopped but we were still wet but we didn't let that stop us. We stayed until 8:00 that night. My poor mom stayed in the van and listened to one of her books on her ipod for about 3 hours. It was definitly a trip to remember!

Fun day for Hannah

Hannah wanted to get her ears pierced so we went to Sweet and Sassy while we were in Charlotte. There were two girls there so they did both ears at one time. Hannah said her ears hurt for about 15 min. and then the pain was all over. She got to share this experience with her Aunt G, Michaela, Macey, Justin, and her mom.
