Wedding Day!

Hannah spent the night with Megan and Rachel at her grandparents house.  The next morning they began getting ready with fixing their hair and doing their makeup.  Of course, there were lots of pics taken as well.  Hannah's cousin, Michaela, came and fixed Hannah's hair.  She did a waterfall braid and then curled it.

Meanwhile, my sister, Angie came and fixed my hair.  My sweet niece painted my nails for me.
It is fun to be pampered!

We had lunch at the church and then got dressed.

Kevin did the ceremony and did an excellent job.
There was even a foot washing ceremony and Zach and Megan's parents prayed over the couple when it was over.

Rehearsal and Dinner

Here are some pictures of the rehearsal and then the dinner afterwards.
There were even tears at the rehearsal!

We decorated with some things from Africa.  I used chitenge cloth, wooden animals, and napkin ring holders from Zambia on each table.

We also added pictures of the happy couple and little lanterns on each table.

Me and my mom at the grooms cake table.  My mom was a tremendous help setting up for the rehearsal dinner. We only had one hour to get everything set up!

I guess I should have taken a picture of the food before it was almost gone.  We had rolls, broccoli and cheese casserole, carrot soufle, turkey and gravey, salisbury steak, and mashed potatoes.

We were supposed to have a bonfire afterwards but it was raining so we just got together in the room we had the dinner in.  We still had a fire in the fireplace so some even roasted marshmellows and made s'mores.  Caleb joined Zach and played some songs and we all sang.

Different ones shared stories about Zach and Megan

Celebrating 50 years of marriage!

Here comes the bride!!  Yesterday we helped celebrate Kevin's parents 50th wedding anniversary.  Their actual anniversary is May 7th but we would not be here then so we planned it for when we could be a part of this special occasion.  This was a total surprise!  They renewed their vows together!

We told Kevin's mother we were going to take a picture of all the ladies in the family so she needed to get dressed up.  We then left and went to the church.  When we got in the church Joannis(Kevin's sister) told her she needed to change dresses in to this pretty white dress.  We then told her what was happening.  Tears came to her eyes!  She seemed pretty happy about this.
Meanwhile, after we left the house Kevin had to tell his daddy.  I don't think he enjoyed being surprised and only given like 30 min. to get ready but he complied and then really enjoyed the ceremony and dinner.

Kevin did the service.  Joannis and Justin stood with them.

 "You may kiss your bride!"

 They sure are smiling!!

Joannis did a great job decorating and setting everything up.

It was so special to see all the family and friends who came to help celebrate.

Zach is introducing the video he made with pictures from their past 50 years together.

  Joannis shared their love story.

Many people shared stories about Roy and Betty Jo.  It was a strong testimony of their love and God's faithfulness throughout the years!

I hate this picture turned out blurry but wanted to share it anyway.  Instead of Betty Jo throwing her flowers she gave them to Megan who will be marrying Zach next Saturday.  Then Roy prayed for their upcoming wedding and marriage.

Roy thanking everyone who had come.

These last two pics were taken after we got home.

It was a real special afternoon and evening and we are so glad we were able to be here to participate.
May God grant them many  more years together!
