March/April in Tanzania

Kevin and I made a trip to Kigoma, TZ to visit with colleagues who are serving there.  While there we went to this Livingstone Museum and memorial.

On some of our weekends while in Dar es Salaam we would go to the beach.  Have you ever seen a herd of cattle and goats walking down the beach??

Hannah came to visit us for her March/April break from school.  We still did language school while she was visiting but we did take a few days and go to Zanzibar.  It was beautiful!

The water was gorgeous!

 A beautiful starfish we found.

Out on the beach at night enjoying  a full moon.

It was so good to have Hannah with us for a month and show her what our life looked like in Dar es Salaam.  All good things come to an end though. This picture was taken on the day she flew back to Kenya.

Banquet 2018

At RVA, the Junior class prepares a banquet for the senior class.  They build a set, prepare the food, and act out a play all around a common theme they have prepared well in advance.  The Junior's parents also come and help prepare the week before the big event.

The theme was the Polar Express

 The menu for the night

The night of the Banquet.  The girls get all dressed up and wait for the guys to come pick them up.

 Hannah looked so beautiful!

Hannah's date, Joey, came to pick her up at her dorm.

Then they begin the walk up the hill.

When they reach the top, there are parents and other students clapping and cheering for each couple.

Hannah had a wonderful time!

Christmas Holiday in France and then to Spain for a meeting

Well, once again, I have gotten behind on my blog.  So I'm going to try to update it with big things that have happened since I last updated.  So I'll start with our vacation over Christmas in France.  Because our personnel from Sub Saharan Africa was having a meeting in Spain at the end of Dec and in to January a bit we planned a family vacation in France. We went to Paris, Normandy, and the Province of Brittany.  This was our first time to be away from home on Christmas Day.  We had a fabulous time though.  Hope you enjoy our pics from France and just a few from Spain since we didn't get out much there because of the meeting.

We went up in the Eiffel Tower at night.

We took the subway to get around.

We visited Normandy as well.  Not sure words can even express our time there and seeing all that we did.  We had a great tour guide who really made it all come alive to us.

This is where we stayed in Brittany for Christmas.

Just as Hannah was snapping the picture a wave came up and sprayed me!  It was so cold!

These last few pictures are in Spain.
