September visit in the US

Happy 30 year Anniversary to us!
We went to Cancun for a couple of days before our meeting in TX.

The place we stayed had several restaurants so we chose the Japanese one for our anniversary.

Unfortunately, the weather was not nice the whole time we were there.  We were able to go walking on the beach a couple of times.  The sun came out for about 30 min the whole time we were there.  We still had fun though!

We tried a French restaurant too.  It was good food!

We were at Southwestern Seminary for a meeting so while there we were able to meet some of our friends that we had not seen in a while.  It was so good to catch up with Julie.

We also got to see Jay and Elise!

We spent time with Ed and Linda Miller who served in Zambia with us for many years.

We also got to spend time with Catherine at the seminary.

It was cool to see our friend Kenny Vines on a poster on the campus.

Another plus is that we got to see Jeff and Mary P. who used to serve in Malawi.  We were able to go to their home with the Dina's and have lunch and spend the afternoon together.  A true blessing!

After our time in Texas we flew to NC to see our family.  This was such a treat!

Sure do love my Mom and Dad!

We also got to see Zach and Megan a couple of different times since they weren't so far away.

My Dad killed this bear and had just gotten it stuffed.  It was huge!!

 saying bye is never easy

We got to go to a NC State Football game with my sister and brother in law and Zach and Megan and watch my niece cheer.  State won too!

I love this pic with Justin!

We also got to spend time with Kevin's parents and help them clean up after the hurricane.  Thankfully, their home was spared just needed a lot of picking up around the yard.  We are happy that we were able to be there to help.

Oriental had a lot of damage.

This boat ended up on top of the dock!

There were a lot of trees that fell in the woods around their house.  So thankful they all fell in the opposite direction than the house.

Don't you love how Jake got in the pic too?

We had a great time in the States visiting family and friends!
