Thank you for joining with us on this Day of Prayer and Fasting for Zimbabwe - Friday April 18.Please pray as God leads you to pray. If you would like to use the guide below to help you get started please do so. God told Moses and Aaron to go a speak to Pharoah, telling him, "Let my people go.""But I will harden Pharaoh's heart that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt."So Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded, but Pharoah's heart was hardened and he did not listen. Then Pharoah caused the taskmasters to increase the labour of the Israelites and the people cried out even more. Then the Lord said to Moses, "I am the Lord and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. . . and you shall know that I am the Lord Your God who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. . . Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharoah, through his chariots and his horsemen."(Excerpts from Exodus 7:3-4; 5:14-15; 6:6-7; and14:18)

Dear Abba, our compassionate Daddy, who is the creator and ruler of all:The people of Zimbabwe have been crying out to you. Men have acted to change their situtaion, but we know that man can do nothing without you. Never before have the people of Zimbabwe been so expectant and hopeful of change. Never before have they been so courageous to take a stand on election day. And now many are being abused, tortured, imprisoned, and even killed for taking a stand. Never before have the people become so angry that change has not come. Just like the Israelites, MAN can do nothing in Zimbabwe. Only if YOU choose to act for them and redeem them can any change come about. Like Habakkuk (3:2) we say that we have heard of the mighty acts you have done for others in past days, and we beg you that you would renew your work in this generation. By the power of your mighty right hand, oh Abba, bring forth truth and mercy and justice. By the works of your hands overthrow tyranny and oppresssion. May the people of Zimbabwe know that YOU ARE GOD! May the world stand up and take notice because of how you acted on their behalf. Faithful Father, we pray that you will raise up a godly man whose desire is to shepherd this nation under your authority. A man who desires to see the people and country prosper. One who desires to build up and not destroy. Abba, we also realize that when you sent your son to earth, He did not come to overthrow earthly governments, but to build a spiritual kingdom. Thank you that you are at work building a spiritual kingdom during this trying days. Help us to press on and to continue to follow you whether or not things change. We are nothing God, this battle belongs to you alone. Thy will be done.
