Breath of Heaven Orphanage

Today Me, Zach, Hannah, and Megan went to visit Breath of Heaven Orphanage.  Some friends of ours are helping to run this orphanage here in Lusaka.  They have done a tremendous job!  The orphans are healthy and well taken care of .  There are about 45 kids at this point but more will be coming.  The vision is God sized but we have a Big God!!

This 12 year old little girl made our lunch.  She made nshima, rape, and chicken.  It was delicious!

This was Megans first time to have a Zambian meal and she liked it!

Most of our time we helped several of the kids write letters to their sponsors.  This helped us to get to know some of these kids better.

A lot of the girls have learned to crochet and do a marvelous job.  They have made scarves, hats, and pocket books.

I could write a whole blog on this little guy.  He was running faster than I can and he only has one leg!  He was playing soccer with the other kids and if you didn't see he had a crutch you would have never known he was missing a leg.

 Amazing!

I hope to remember to think about this the next time I say, "I can't.....
Praise God that this little boy did not give up and has the attitude of, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"

 Some of the girls crocheting.

We decided to a have a time of worship.  Aretta called all the kids together to worship.  I didn't hear any complaints or see any pouty faces.  They all eagerly came in.  When they started singing it was simply beautiful!
Zach played the guitar and Megan helped lead the singing.  Several of the older kids helped lead us in some Zambian choruses too!

This was a wonderful time of worship!

We played outside with the kids for a little while too.  The kids really seemed to enjoy jump roping.

 Megan joined in too!

These little boys really enjoyed Zach!

Me and Aretta had to show the kids that we could still jump rope.  I think we got up to 30 jumps in before we messed it up!

This is a game called, "Do like I do."

These little girls loved playing with Megans hair.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."  Praise God for Breath of Heaven Orphanage and the people who support it so that it can exist for these precious children!
